Google My Business – Home Service Professionals

Google is testing out a new feature. It will connect people who are looking for home service professionals in their area.

The search service will connect searchers to home-service providers such as plumbers, electricians, gardeners and other home-based service providers directly from Google My Business.

Buzzfeed first reported the home services solution was in the works in April. Taking on the likes of Yelp, Angie’s List and Amazon Home Services. Google’s home service professionals ads promote pre-qualified home service professionals. They enable users to submit requests to the providers straight from the search ads on Google My Business.

One would suspect this would be deeply integrated into Google My Business, where small businesses can advertise through AdWords based on the type of business they are in and the query the searcher enters into the search box. So plumbers in Google My Business may be able to set a budget to show up for plumbing related keywords and then be connected to the searcher, potentially without even having a website.
